ELECTRICIAN MARKETING
OVERVIEW
Electrical work is a mix of urgent and planned. One customer has a breaker that won’t stop tripping. Another just bought an electric vehicle and needs a charger in the garage. A third wants a standby generator before storm season. Each of them searches differently, and each is worth a different amount to your business. Electrician marketing has to show up for all of them, prove you’re licensed and safe, and get the right jobs on the schedule. Sander Digital Marketing works with electrical contractors across the U.S. on exactly that. It’s one of many industries we serve, and it builds on our guide to home service marketing.
Three things set electrical work apart:
EV charger installs are researched purchases, so they need their own page and their own campaign

THE PROBLEMS
The same leaks show up in most electrical accounts we review:
“Residential and commercial electrical” doesn’t rank for “EV charger installation” or “panel upgrade.”
Buyers want to see your license number, insurance, and that you pull permits.
A vague category, no services listed, and no photos of real work.
“Electrician jobs,” “electrician school,” and “how to wire an outlet” clicks drain budget.
Urgent electrical calls go to whoever answers first.
WHAT WE DO
We set the most specific primary category for your business, add real services, define your service area, and keep photos of completed work coming. This is part of Local SEO, and our Google Business Profile checklist covers every field.
Electricians are an eligible category for Google Local Services Ads, where you pay per lead and can earn the Google Verified badge. LSA works well for troubleshooting and repair calls. For EV chargers, generators, and panel upgrades, we run Search campaigns split by job type so each gets its own budget, ads, and landing page. Our guide to campaign structure for service businesses shows how. Campaigns are managed under Paid Advertising.
Missed-call text-back, same-day callbacks, estimate follow-up for bigger projects, and review requests after every job. The playbook is in speed-to-lead.
HIGH-VALUE JOBS
These are the pages we build first for most residential electricians, with the trust content each one needs:
| Job | What buyers want to know | Trust content to include |
|---|---|---|
| Troubleshooting and repairs | How fast you can come out and what it costs to diagnose | Warning signs from NFPA’s list, response times, license number |
| Panel upgrades | Whether they need one, how long it takes, permits | Permit and inspection process, photos of past panels |
| EV charger installation | Level 1 vs. Level 2, whether the home has enough capacity, permits | Links to ENERGY STAR and DOE resources, charger brands you install |
| Generators | Portable vs. standby, safe connection, sizing | Safety basics, installation photos, maintenance plans |
| Lighting and rewiring | Options, timelines, disruption | Before and after photos, project galleries |
| Commercial work | Licensing, insurance, scheduling around business hours | Certificates, commercial project examples |
For EV chargers, the Department of Energy’s home charging guide notes that a qualified electrician can tell homeowners whether their home has enough electrical capacity for Level 2 charging and can add circuits if needed, and that installations must meet local codes and may need permits. ENERGY STAR’s page on EV chargers explains that Level 2 chargers need a heavy-duty 240-volt circuit. Linking to sources like these makes your page more useful and more credible.
For generators, Ready.gov’s power outage guidance says generators should only be used outdoors and away from windows, doors, and attached garages. Safety content like this belongs on your generator page, along with how you connect equipment safely.
Generator pages should cover safe connection and placement, not just sales copy

FAQ
With us, management fees run from $500/mo for one ad platform to $1,250/mo for the full Local Growth Engine, plus ad spend. Your ad budget depends on your market and capacity. We’ll recommend a starting budget in your audit.
At minimum: troubleshooting and repairs, panel upgrades, EV charger installation, generators, lighting, and (if you do it) commercial work, plus an about page with your license and insurance. Add service-area pages only where you have real local work to show.
For many, yes, especially for urgent repair calls. You pay per lead, and verified businesses can show the Google Verified badge. Search ads usually do better for planned projects like EV chargers and generators, where a dedicated landing page matters.
With separate pages and campaigns, because commercial buyers search differently and care about licensing, insurance, and scheduling. We keep commercial leads tracked separately from residential ones.
